I really like this case. It's compact but it holds a lot of stuff. It's great for my purposes. That is I wanted something that pads my Toshiba 16" widescreen laptop, and carries the extras, charger, mouse, a few cables (ethernet, 2 usb cables), a rescue disk or two or three, my mp3 player, sunglasses/glasses.. and other stuff all securely tucked away. It's often advertised for 15" laptops but my 16" fits nicely. The padding and Velcro to hold the computer in place are well thought out. I do have some difficulties fitting a usb headset in. It will fit but not comfortably. A smaller, fordable headset would work better with this one. You can fit a few papers brochures, notepads etc in here. There are lots of added pockets both inside and out. More than are evident in the online photos. It was fun finding them all and figuring out what all would fit where. For most of the basic stuff there are little picture labels stitched over the pockets. I'm not sure this is necessary but it is an aid to organization. I do use them.

I'd have to say that I can fit more stuff in here than I thought i would be able to from looking from the descriptions. That and it's easy to do in an organized and tidy way.. which well organized and tidy aren't two of my strong suits, so it helps.

If you need to haul a bunch of stuff like a 2-3 inch stack of paper files or brochures, or your looking for something to carry textbooks.. you'll find that you might be able to pack them in uncomfortably, or maybe not at all. I don't think it was designed with that in mind, it's more for just a laptop and some accessories. My laptop is larger than one intended for easy travel So it's up to what you would need it for.

I've only had mine for a week, but so far I like it. The construction seems to be very good, good solid stitching, the zippers feel like they will last for a long time. The strap attaches securely and seems like it won't wear loose. I got this case because the stitching holding the strap to my old case was giving way and it was a matter of time before the whole thing ripped loose. I don't anticipate that happening with this one. The shoulder strap itself is a good length. I think some reviewers commented on it being too short. I'm 6 feet tall and it hangs comfortably by my hip. Maybe the strap has been lengthened. I just measured it and extended all the way the strap was 50" from end to end.

It's not designed to be, or at least not expressly marketed as "airport security friendly" though i wouldn't say it seems unfriendly either. I haven't been through security with it yet, but i think if you take the computer out and leave the rest of your stuff inside it it should be ok. This isn't any worse than what i was previously using. I don't think it will slow you down at all getting through security. It just doesn't flip open like some cases so that everything is in plain sight for easy inspection.

After buying my 17.3" display laptop, I went to the local store only to find out that none of the cases there would fit. Then we went to Best Buy and saw some that cost $70-$100, which I thought was too much. So I searched Amazon to find a case that would accommodate my large laptop. I didn't want to spend too much so I decided to give the Case Logic a try. I was just going by the pictures but for about half the money, was not disappointed. It seems to be sturdy and well built. So far I am completely satisfied.
